Mediahuis is a big media company writing some of the most known Belgian newspapers like ‘De Standaard’, ‘Het Nieuwsblad’ and ‘Gazet Van Antwerpen’.

Furthermore, Mediahuis is part of Corelio Media. Known for production company ‘Woestijnvis’ and television channels ‘Vier’ and ‘Vijf’.
Challenges
Mediahuis uses Oracle as the underlying database for a number of important applications.
In the past, one DBA managed everything.
But due to the changing availability expectations, it was no longer possible to let one person handle the support required.
